Exciting Changes!

I cannot believe my BABY is THREE!!! Brody turned three on May 18th! He is starting to get VERY independent... I told him today that he is my baby, and he said "No! I am not your baby!" I was crushed.... but I know it's just part of growing up! Little does he know, he will ALWAYS be my baby :)

We celebrated Brody's birthday last Friday... he wanted to go to Johnny Rockets, so we took him there for dinner. Ashley, Bryan, Amber, Nani, Papa and Cindy joined us! Brody was very excited to be having a birthday! He had been talking about it for at least a month! I knew I had to make it special for him, since I was not going to be with him for his actual birthday! More on that later..... Anyway, we went to Johnny Rockets, and he got a few gifts (a soccer ball - just his size from Papa and Cindy, a scooter - from Mommy and Daddy, and a ball that acts as a sprinkler, that he can play with in the front yard)! We asked that everyone save their gifts to give to him at his party! Except, for Papa and Cindy - they will not be in town. We are having a combined party this year, for both Dakoda and Brody. Todd will be in town, so we wanted him to be a part of it! Brody opened a few more gifts on his actual birthday - sidewalk chalk, clothes, shoes, etc. Jason then took him to McDonalds for breakfast (and to play), then they went to Cabelas. Brody really liked it there - he got to see fish, bear, dear, elk, turkey, etc. They had a great time, and he even got a coon tail cap! After a little nap at home, they went out to Jason's parents house for cake and ice cream that evening! He had a great day and was very happy to be another year older!

Dakoda and I were not in town for Brody's b-day, because we left to go to Shriners in Utah. Dakoda got a new wheelchair! It is great! He looks like a BIG boy in it :) They designed it, to be a chair that he can push and move around in (it is a lot lighter than his other chair - so he is able to move it easier). He is enjoying the freedom of being able to go where he wants, but it just means we have to keep a closer eye on him.... he is FAST!

Brody started swimming lessons on Tuesday with Mrs. Paige! He took lessons last year, but he will be doing two sessions this summer (just so he has more time.... maybe he will get it down this year)! He is excited... he attends twice a week, and looks forward to practicing... even if it is only in the bathtub!

Amongst the many graduation parties and trips that we have planned, this last part of May to the beginning of June - will be very busy to say the least! I am in town until Wednesday... my mom and I leave Wednesday morning to head to Todd's graduation from bootcamp! We can't wait to see him! It should be a great, relaxing time, to spend with Todd, Ashley, Bryan, Amber, mom, dad and Cindy! Just the adults... that's right NO KIDS :) I have to admit that I am looking VERY forward to it! Well, I will post pictures when I return....

  1. They do grow way too fast!!! Keiric says the same thing about being a baby, and when I say that he is my favorite little boy, he always says, "mom, me is a BIG boy!" so precious! Anyway, glad to hear all is well, Send our congrats to Todd on his graduation and have a great time with the adults (crazy that it includes, Todd, Bryan and Ashley too - not to mention us! I swear we're not grown ups yet - even if we I guess are adults!
